Fae-tastic Adventures: A Review of third book in Blood of Fae series Empress of Fae by Briar Boleyn

Empress of Fae is the third book in the Blood of Fae series. The series is written by Briar Boleyn. I am very thankful to Netgalley and Briar for letting me read it on Netgalley and review it. The series is based on the legend of Excalibur. But the main character here is Morgan la Fey. Here is the Goodreads description;

Divided by Oceans but Eternally Bonded
Morgan Pendragon has another name now: Morgan Le Fay. As her true heritage slowly emerges from the mists of the past, Morgan renounces one possible future as the new ruler of the fierce Siabra fae and the wife of the Prince of Claws and vanishes through a portal–returning to Camelot and the Rose Court where her friends and younger brother lie in mortal peril from Arthur's cruel wiles.
But back in the Court of Claws, Kairos Draven won't allow his beloved to disappear from his life so easily. His bond with Morgan goes beyond blood, love, life, and even time itself and neither one of them can relinquish its power or its pull.
Yet Morgan is no ordinary woman. Not only is she beginning to manifest remarkable abilities, but the powers of the gods themselves run through her veins, bestowing her with unimaginable power and an unthinkable claim over all of Aercanum and beyond...
A claim which some will stop at nothing to put a halt to.

My Review
OMG!!!!!! the story is getting better and better in the third book. I was sooo into the story that I did not know it was finished.......and when I finished...I got to know there is more to the story which means that there are going to be more books in the series. I cannot wait to know what happens next. The plot the story, the transformation of characters, and the introduction of some new ones were just amazing.

Morgan in this book was less annoying and more logical. She is back at the Court of Roses and our girl has grown up playing dangerous spying games and having a hot time with her husband in dreams...Yes!!! Dreams!!!! That was the most awesome part of the series.....she and Rune are very very far away from each other but they are connected through dreams. So she is also kind providing critical information to him and updating him about herself. It's rather convenient though.

I am so curious about the story of Morgan's mother whom we did not know much about We only knew that she ran with Morgan to protect her from her husband whom Morgan saw in the dream. We also don't know much about her father Gorlois la Fey who might be the eviliest man in this world. but we don't know the story yet, Maybe he had his reasons which I doubt must be evil.

There are many disturbing themes in this book from which one is referring to the May Day massacre. There is a tragedy and a major plot twist at the end of the book. On the whole, this was an awesome read having all that needs to be in the High Fantasy book.
The Best Part:
  1. Morgan reveals her true self in front of Fenyx
  2. Morgan fighting Fenyx in his dungeon of horrors....that scene was epic
  3. Rune comes at a critical point and saves Morgan
The Worst Part:
I don't think there was any. Although at some points I felt like there was too much talking and tooo much detail which bored me a little but I understand the detail is important too.
Best Character
Morgan was just amazing in this book
Rune was 💜
Merlin 💔
Guinevere💔💔
Arthur was evil but at the end 😢💔
Worst Character
Fenyx (Evil version of Florian from the first book)
Best Quotes:
Life was unepected. Death was supposed to be a certainty.

That's where you are mistaken Fenyx, I am no princess. You are addressing the wife of Prince Kairos Draven Venator and the Empress of the Court of Umbral Flames and the Empire of Myntra. and then I conjured my flames.

My Theories
For Gorlois
Maybe he is Perun....the forgotten god who is mentioned time and time again in the books. He is kind of a scary god who needs blood sacrifices and stuff.

Happy Reading!!

The Awakening | Zodiac Academy Series written by Caroline Peckham and Suzanne Valenti | A Book Review

Alright, here I am, sharing my thoughts on the first book The Awakening from Zodiac Academy series written by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti . I decided to start reviewing this series as it falls under the 'enemies to lovers ' and 'bullies romance' genres, which are right up my alley. I'm a sucker for this type of book and I am always on the hunt for such books. Someone made a video of this book on TikTok and I was like I had to read it. So, I began reading the book and I fell into a rabbit hole of Magic Academy, hot assholes, and alternative Fae world. It felt like diving into a more mature version of Harry Potter. Needless to say, I absolutely loved this first installment. My Review of Gold Book 5 of the Plated Prisoner Series written by Raven Kennedy

I am having a mixed feeling right now. I just finished reading this 5th book in the series and I am......well, I don't know what I feel. This book was an emotional rollercoaster. It made me feel things.....things I have long forgotten....things people write books about.....I am rambling again but this is my mental state at this point....this is all due to Raven Kennedy and her books. I found this book series from booktok last year. It was not very popular but someone recommended reading it and when I read the series......omg 🤌🤌. The book is a retelling of King Midas and his golden touch but there is a twist in this book.....King Midas is a fraud in this book and he is keeping a girl prisoner who has the golden touch.   Here is the synopsis;  "Find me in another life. Find me in them all." Every end is also a beginning. I thought I was going to die, and would have if it weren’t for Slade. The only way he could save me was to open a rip between worlds. The only way for me

Where is Molly by H.D Carlton | A Review

Where is Molly is a stand alone book written by H.D Carlton. It is set in the Universe of Haunting Adeline. The story revolves around Molly...the girl we found in Hunting Adeline. Her diary was founded by Adeline under the floor and us readers always wanted to know if she succeeded in running away from that awful place.  Blurb A spinoff of the Cat & Mouse Duet... “Molly Devereaux has been missing for more than two weeks, and police are still searching for the girl who seemed to vanish out of thin air. The world still wants to know... Where's Molly?” In my dreams, I never escaped the Oregon woods. Life after death isn't easy to accept, especially when I still feel like a ghost. Now, I live deep in the mountains of Montana—the paradigm of beauty. But they are also the home of horrors. Horrors that I only unleash at night. When my pigs are allowed to feast. It is strongly recommended to read Haunting Adeline and Hunting Adeline before reading Where's Molly. Important No

Lightlark by Alex Aster | A Book Review

A Fellow booktoker recommended me this book. She talks about it all the time and makes really catchy videos featuring this Duology. I got interested and purchased this book. Lightlark is the first book in the series written by Alex Aster. I got to know some pretty interesting facts about the Author and how this book was published. You should learn it too this is not my story to tell 😅. Anyhow I started reading this book in March and finished it one week. Somehow I got late in writing and reviewed all the books I read in March. So now I am starting again. This is the brief of this book on Goodreads; Welcome to the Centennial. Every 100 years, the island of Lightlark appears to host the Centennial, a deadly game that only the rulers of six realms are invited to play. The invitation is a summons—a call to embrace victory and ruin, baubles and blood. The Centennial offers the six rulers one final chance to break the curses that have plagued their realms for centuries. Each ruler has somet

A Curse for True Love by Stephanie Garber | A Book Review

This is the third book in the Once Upon a Broken Heart series . I would say a good conclusion to the series. I was not expecting things to happen in this book but it fills with twists and turns. this is the description of this book; Two villains, one girl, and a deadly battle for happily ever after. Evangeline Fox ventured to the Magnificent North in search of her happy ending, and it seems as if she has it. She’s married to a handsome prince and lives in a legendary castle. But Evangeline has no idea of the devastating price she’s paid for this fairytale. She doesn’t know what she has lost, and her husband is determined to make sure she never finds out . . . but first he must kill Jacks, the Prince of Hearts. Blood will be shed, hearts will be stolen, and true love will be put to the test in A Curse for True Love, the breathlessly anticipated conclusion to the Once Upon A Broken Heart trilogy.
