I found this book accidentally ... totally by chance....when I was searching for books with a disability rep. And I am so happy that I found it. This book covers some taboo topics that might make some people uncomfortable but I like to read taboo topics so here I am reviewing this book. This book is mild compared to dark romance stuff...but it is spicy with an amazing plot. And it covers one of my favorite tropes......Fated soulmates and a disability trope... so, get right to the review. Welcome to the Dark Side is the second book in the Fallen Men series written by Giana Darling Here is a brief synopsis of the book.
I was a good girl.
I ate my vegetables, volunteered at the local autism center, and sat in the front pew of church every Sunday.
Then, I got cancer.
What the hell kind of reward was that for a boring life well lived?
I was a seventeen-year-old paradigm of virtue and I was tired of it.
So, when I finally ran into the man I'd been writing to since he saved my life as a little girl and he offered to show me the dark side of life before I left it for good, I said yes.
Only, I didn't know that Zeus Garro was the President of The Fallen MC and when you made a deal with a man who is worse than the devil, there was no going back...
This is Daddy Zeus Garro's story from Lessons In Corruption. A standalone in The Fallen Men series.

MY REVIEW
I will start the review with this line...This book is 🤌🏼 ❤. I will try to not spoil this for you. The story is based on a little girl who got shot in a church shooting when she was 5 and was saved by the head of the MC club when he got in front of him. They both got injured and admitted to hospital. Where the it's Father makes a case against the head and puts him in jail for a very long time.
The sweetest thing was that the little girl thought of that person as her angel and she started corresponding with him through letters telling him about her school stories and stuff. I know some might think this is crossing some taboo lines but it was not like that at all. The little girl truly believed him to be his guardian angel and he only responded to her letters because she was ill and lonely.
Lou (the girl) was diagnosed with cancer when she was 5 and my heart goes out to her because her parents were horrible to her. She was kind of a neglected child to some extent. Her mother cares enough to put up appearances for the community and her father was an evil Mayor who was too ambitious to care for his girls.
So long story short they grow up and are living their own lives when they meet again and the attraction...the chemistry between them was 🔥🔥🔥🔥. I cannot seem to forget that chapter....I think it chapter 19 or 20 when Lou dances for him......omg that scene lives rent-free in my head. The way she tried to make him angry and he got angry and then things happened.
Apart from the spice and smut the plot was very strong. There is shady stuff going on in their town and the Mayor is involved in very shady business and there is politics. Everyone is trying to make Zeus the bad guy. Overall the book is very well written and awesome. This is the first book I read by this author and I will be reading more.
Though it is the second book in the series but can be read as standalone.
Overall: ★★★★ | 5 Stars
