Illusion of Innocence (Titans of Terranea Book 2 ) by Natasha Pierce | A Review

blog post banner for illusion of innocence
Hi Readers!!!!
Welcome to Quills and Pages. Today, it's review time for another amazing book: The Illusions of Innocence. It's 2nd book of the Titans of Terranea series, written by the amazingly talented Natasha Pierce.

BLURB

If only her innocence could outshine the chaos and deception of our world.

When this woman walked into my home, I had no clue what to expect. She was quiet; demure, even. Sweet-natured and compliant.

Then he happened. The one guy I’ve competed against for years started targeting her. She sat back, taking everything he orchestrated to hurt her. Even though I’m pissed at him, I still feel drawn to him, almost like he needs me as much as I need him

Then tragedy struck. Her innocence held her back, but I can slowly see the real woman underneath as she battles to stand her ground. The one with dirty dreams and intense needs. The one to match my stamina and hunger. Turns out, though, she is fated to another. One who I can’t seem to avoid; the man who quietly stands with me by her side.

How can these three souls have a piece of my body and heart?

I don’t care. I’m going to fight to keep her and protect her, regardless if they stand with me or against me. I’ll figure out everything else along the way. And I will do everything to help the illusions of her innocence fall away, revealing the goddess I’ve always known her to be.

MY REVIEW
First of all, thank you to the author for providing me with the arc copy. I was hesitant to start the review because I needed to absorb everything. So the book continues from where the last one ended.

This is the story of Harbor and the other 3 people; Silas, Talon, and Kane. This is a reverse harem/why choose situation and in this book, Harbor is trying to find out what happened to her best friend and also she is getting cozy with Talon and Kane. Silas is as usual the dickhead....sometimes he is hot and other times I wanted to give him a good whooping.

Anyway, the romance is fire, and the story progresses slowly but steadily. There are lots of mysteries that need to be unraveled in this book but haven't. Of course, I understand everything has to come out naturally and on time. it shouldn't be rushed. so, I have very high hopes for the next one.

The last chapter threw me off..it came out of nowhere and I was like what the hell.......and then the cliffhanger.......I want to scream now in the void 😅😂. I cannot wait for the next book to come out. On the whole, the book was good.

A Critical Lens on 'Hunting Adeline' by H.D. Carlton: Exploring the Disturbing Themes | A Review

I kept delaying writing the review because I had to remember it and didn't want to do that. This 2nd book of Cat and Mouse duet is the story of a human trafficking survivor. This book is a huge  TRIGGER WARNING . Kindly proceed with caution. I even got traumatized after reading it. So to explain the synopsis; Adeline (the main character) got kidnapped at the end of the first book and sold to some people who groomed her for some very rich and powerful clients.  Almost half of the book is based on Adeline surviving the worst situations possible for a woman. Adeline had one advantage someone was fervently searching for her, and eventually, Zade managed to rescue her after four agonizing months. The scene when Zade finds her and she just could not believe it. She crumbled to her knees thinking she was hallucinating. After Zade brings her home she struggles so hard to process her trauma. She learns to fight to take control of her life. She gets close to her mother. She hates h...

What's Up, Readers!! Welcome to Quills and Pages. I just finished On Wings of Blood arc....and now I am here to write the review. the book is written by Briar Boleyn and Thank you to Netgally and the author for this arc. iSo, let's start the review BLURB I didn't sign up for this. A half-fae in a school of highblood vampires? That's a recipe for torment. I'm Medra Pendragon—last of the dragon riders, or so they tell me. Funny thing is, there are no dragons left. Not a single one. But somehow, that hasn't stopped the vampires from deciding I'm worth capturing. Now I'm stuck at Bloodwing Academy, where the highbloods run everything and blightborn like me? We're just blood in their veins, pawns in their games. But that's not even the worst part. Enter Blake Drakharrow. Cold, arrogant, and way too gorgeous for his own good. He's been tormenting me since the moment we met, and now, thanks to some ancient ritual, we're betrothed. He acts like h...

Booktok made me Read Haunting Adeline | A Review

Spoilers ahead!! ( Proceed at your own risk) Haunting Adeline book is written by H.D Carlton . The story starts as Adeline relocates to her Nana's enchanting house located in Seattle. The author paints a beautiful picture of the stunning old Victorian residence perched on a cliff, surrounded by lush forests on one side. The mysteriously amazing atmosphere instantly captivated me, as I have a deep fondness for haunting manors in the backdrops of the storyline. This sets the stage for a promising journey right from the very first chapter . So Adeline meet with her best friend, Daya , who playfully encourages her to let loose and have some fun. Daya, leads a dream life as a top-class hacker, associated with a vigilante organization. While she keeps certain aspects of her work a secret from Adeline due to their classified nature, she remains a pillar of support and assistance in every way possible. When they're together, they exude a delightful silliness that reminds me of the bon...

Have you ever stumbled upon a series that not only captures your imagination but also challenges the norms of classic narratives? If you haven't yet experienced this literary masterpiece, be prepared for a rollercoaster ride of intrigue, deception, and personal growth. Embark with me on a journey through the twists and turns of these books, where the conventional story of King Midas and his golden touch takes an unexpected and captivating turn. A Twist on a Classic Tale The foundation of the Plated Prisoner series rests upon the iconic figure of King Midas and his fabled golden touch. However, Kennedy masterfully introduces a twist; King Midas, rather than possessing the golden touch, is revealed to be a fraud, capitalizing on the real power held by this beautiful character Auren. Auren, with her genuine golden touch, becomes the linchpin of the plot as ...
